In 2003 Red Bull GmbH created Red Bull Air Race, an international series of air races where competitors navigate a challenging obstacle course in the fastest time. The goal was to develop an aviation race that was not simply about speed, but also precision and skill. Using the fastest, most agile, lightweight race planes, pilots hit speeds of 230 mph (370 kph) while enduring forces of up to 10 G. Races are held all over the world, mostly in cities near the water or in airfields or natural wonders. At each venue, the top eight pilots earn World Championship points. The air racer with the most points at the end of the season becomes the Red Bull Air Race World Champion!
This year 14 pilots have been competing in the Master Class category in 8 races for the title of the 2017 Red Bull Air Race World Champion. Matthias Dolderer is the 2016 Red Bull Air Race World Champion and he’s got his eye on a repeat performance. Representing Germany, Dolderer earned an invitation to the Red Bull Air Race qualifications in September 2008. He quickly rose in the rankings, starting in 2009 he came in 9th place, he rose to 8th place in 2010, 7th in 2014 (there was a 3 year hiatis from 2011 – 2013 while Red Bull allowed for a “headquarters” restructure and the implementation of new safety measures) 5th place in 2015 and 1st in 2016.
OBJECT CARPET is a proud supporter of world champion, Matthias Dolderer and is a technical team supplier. They are thrilled to have a representative that is as creative, colorful, and ambitious as their products.
And Summit International Flooring is excited to announce that Dolderer and the Red Bull Air Race will be in the US in the next few weeks!
