We are like family here at Summit International Flooring (SIF) and we want you to know us like family too! We are introducing you to different SIF team members. This way if you need anything (e.g. – advice, assistance) you know you can come to us first; just like family!
What are your responsibilities with Summit International Flooring (SIF)?
Essentially, I create the brand awareness for Summit International Flooring. In order to do so, I manage our social media accounts, keep our website running smoothly, and create promotional items to distribute across the country. Furthermore, I provide assistance to our sales team by providing them with the images and documents they need to help them impress a client.
What SIF product are you most excited about today and why?
Although I’ve been introduced to many fantastic manufacturers since I’ve started at Summit International Flooring, I’d have to say I’m most excited about the Places of Origin collection. Created by OBJECT CARPET, this collection showcases eight very different and very beautiful designs. Not only are they innovative in terms of design but in manufacturing as well. For instance, these carpets are created with ECONYL® regenerated nylon. In other words, they created these carpets from recycled material, such as abandoned fishing nets, and made something beautiful for both clients and the world.
Any special project(s) you are currently working on?
I’m currently working on a number of projects at the moment. However, a majority of them involve getting new products into circulation. This includes creating product logos, getting their documents prepared, and generating buzz around them. I look forward to getting some of our new collections into production because they are going to open us up to a whole new market.
What is your background? What did you do before SIF?
After graduating from the University at Albany in 2014, I pursued my love of writing by working for a small start-up digital media company. When that opportunity ended, I changed course and went to work for Verizon. During that time, I worked in the customer service industry. Although those skills have ultimately helped me grow as an individual, I started to miss the opportunity to be more creative. Therefore, I started to look for a position that would not only allow me to grow professionally but creatively as well. When I was introduced to Summit International Flooring, I knew I would have the opportunity to do both.
What is your current obsession? Do you have any hobbies?
My current hobby is exploring different craft breweries. After being introduced to the craft beer scene two years ago, I’ve created a passion for supporting local breweries that are not only creating great beer, but are creating great revenue for their communities. My boyfriend, Ross, and I have visited several breweries in New Jersey and have branched out to some surrounding states in the past.
When we aren’t visiting breweries, we also attend different craft beer festivals during the year. Our favorites include the Atlantic City Beer Fest and the Crystal Springs Beer Festival. However, we decided to branch out and explore beer internationally by attending the 2018 Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany!
Besides craft beer, I would have to say that my current obsession is my dog, Baxter. He’s been in my life since he was six months old and he’s now 10. As part German Shepherd, part Corgi, he’s a mutt that has looks and personality. He’s a great companion in the kitchen, in the car, or even while I’m out kayaking!
